Subaru redesigns Impreza lineup

Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru has announced the launch of the redesigned 2006 Impreza lineup, including the WRX and WRX STI models. Pricing will range from $23,495 to $48,995.

A new three-section grille is inspired by the company’s aircraft heritage, along with boldly-styled headlights and smoke-tinted lenses. All Impreza models receive a new dual-staged advanced airbag system, and the 2.5i and Outback Sport are now equipped with side impact airbags that were previously standard on the WRX. All models feature Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive.

The WRX STI receives significant chassis and performance enhancements, including a steering angle sensor input to the driver-controlled centre differential for enhanced power distribution during cornering. It also features a roof vane spoiler and a specially-engineered rear diffuser that reduces the coefficient lift of the vehicle’s rear.
