Subaru donates Impreza to Ontario secondary school transportation program

Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada has donated a 2006 Impreza Wagon to Bayview Secondary School in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The car will be used by the school’s Transportation Technology class, taught by Mr. James Bugg.

Subaru donated the car after receiving a call from one of Mr. Bugg’s students. Class members were calling various automotive manufacturers, hoping that one might donate a recent-model vehicle to the program. Currently, the car is being used by the junior students in the transportation technology class on the hoist in various ways, with the ultimate goal being to learn how the computer diagnostics work. It is the first time the class has had a current vehicle on which to learn these skills.

Bugg describes the class as a four-phase program in which his students study different aspects of air, land, sea and space transportation. The program aims to draw in a wide range of students by covering a broad base of transportation technologies.
