Subaru Canada opens new Canadian headquarters

Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its new Canadian corporate headquarters on June 28. The new building is at 560 Suffolk Court in Mississauga, Ontario, northwest of Toronto. Dignitaries on hand for the opening celebration included Hisao Yamaguchi, Consul General for Japan in Toronto, Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion, Subaru Canada president Norio Osakabe and Hide Toshi Kobayashi, Executive Vice-President of Subaru of America.

The new building, at 13,141 square metres, is more than twice as large as the previous corporate headquarters, and includes two floors of offices, expanded training facilities and a state-of-the-art warehouse.

The centrepiece of the warehouse is a Remstar Horizontal Carousel System, which contains 11,000 part numbers and spins the shelving to bring the part to the operator in a batched order format. The operator is able to pick approximately 225 lines per hour, compared to an average of 65 to 80 lines per hour from conventional shelving.
