Subaru Canada announces support for “Cops for Cancer”

Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada Inc. has announced its support for Cops for Cancer, a group that raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society through such projects as participation in Subaru Ironman Canada. Subaru is a Platinum Sponsor of Cops for Cancer, which has raised over $18 million for cancer research since its inception in 1994.

The Cops for Cancer Ironman Team now includes civilians as well as police officers, with members from all age groups and many walks of life. The team is slated to compete in the 2006 Subaru Ironman Canada, and is expected to exceed 150 members.

Cops for Cancer began in 1994, when a few police officers from the Edmonton police force shaved their heads and had their picture taken with a young cancer patient to show him their support. Today, the organization spearheads a range of fundraising activities. For more information, visit www.ironcopsforcancer.com.
