Like all Subarus, the Tribeca features the company’s symmetrical, full-time all-wheel-drive and a horizontally-opposed boxer engine. It is the first Subaru in North America to be offered in both a five-passenger configuration and with flexible, three-row seating for seven passengers.
The Tribeca’s engine is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder that develops 250 hp and 219 lb-ft of torque, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. The all-wheel-drive system sends up to 55 per cent of its power to the rear wheels and continually adjusts the power distribution in response to driving and road conditions.
The Tribeca, built in Lafayette, Indiana, will go on sale in Canada in June.
