Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada has announced that the all-new, third-generation Forester, now on sale, has a starting price of $25,795. Despite its new design and additional features, every Forester will have a lower starting price than its predecessor.
The 2009 Forester has also been named a Top Safety Pick by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the highest rating, in recognition of its earning the highest “good” rating in frontal, side and rear crash tests, and its electronic stability control.
The base Forester 2.5X is priced at $25,795 with standard manual transmission, a savings of $1,200 over the corresponding 2008 model. Other models include the 2.5X Touring at $27,995, the 2.5X Limited at $32,395, and the Forester 2.5XT Limited, which starts at $34,895, a price that is $4,100 lower than its predecessor.
All models use a 2.5-litre engine that, depending on the model, is naturally aspirated, or turbocharged and intercooled.
Standard features on the 2009 models include the company’s Symmetrical Full-Time All-Wheel Drive, roof rails, heated front seats, privacy glass, wheel-mounted audio controls, air conditioning, and tilt and telescopic steering column.
