Subaru announces pricing for 2006 Forester
Vancouver, British Columbia – Subaru Canada announced 2006 manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the freshened 2006 Forester.

The base 2006 Forester 2.5X is $27,995, the same price as the 2005 model. The 2006 Forester 2.5XS is $31,995, a reduction of $1,400. The 2.5XS Ltd is $34,999, a drop of $1,000. The turbocharged 2006 Forester XT is $37,095, an increase of $1,000. The XT Premium is $38,695.
The 2006 Forester features a restyled nose and tail, more horsepower for both available engines, and new interior features. Unique to Canada is a base Forester 2.5X model with unpainted grey bumpers and side cladding and standard HID low beam headlamps.
Horsepower for the base 2.5 litre horizontally opposed four cylinder engine has been raised from 165 to 173. Horsepower for the turbocharged 2.5 litre engine has been increased from 210 to 230. Both engines meet stricter LEV2 emissions standards.
Other upgrades for 2006 include a revised 5 speed manual shifter, smoother 4 speed automatic, enhancements to the AWD system, modified suspension for more comfort on rough roads, and a stiffer rear crossmember. Also new is sliding centre armrest with flip-over cupholders for rear passengers and a more comfortable rear seat.
All Foresters now have standard dual stage front airbags, new side airbags that protect the head and chest of front passengers, and active front head restraints. An immobilizer is now standard.
The 2006 Subaru Forester goes on sale in June.
