Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru Canada has announced that its 2007 line-up will include the new Legacy 2.5GT spec.B performance sedan, equipped with Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive).

While Legacy 2.5GT sedans will continue to offer a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, the spec.B will be equipped exclusively with a six-speed manual. The spec.B transmission is adapted from that fitted to the Impreza WRX STI, including higher gear ratios for fifth and sixth gears to enhance smoothness and fuel efficiency.

The spec.B features the GT’s 2.5-litre intercooled turbocharged boxer engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive. SI-Drive, which will be standard on all Legacy 2.5GT and Outback 2.5XT models in 2007, is a driver-controlled selector that works with the engine’s throttle response system to change the performance characteristics. SI-Drive offers Intelligent Mode for fuel efficiency and smoother response in traffic; Sport Mode for quick throttle response and powerful acceleration; and Sport Sharp Mode, for even faster throttle response and more power sooner.

Also unique to the spec.B. are its Bilstein Sport Suspension with inverted front struts, 18-inch aluminum wheels, summer performance tires, standard navigation system, charcoal grey leather-trimmed upholstery with blue Alcantara inserts, and a sole exterior colour choice, Diamond Grey metallic.
