Stuttgart, Germany – Smart has presented two BRABUS variants of its all-new Smart Fortwo at the Geneva Auto Show. Rated at 98 hp, the Smart
BRABUS and BRABUS Xclusive have more than 30 per cent more engine power than the previous BRABUS models, with an extremely low weight-to-power ratio.
The Smart BRABUS focuses on sportiness, with “Monoblock VI” alloy wheels, wider rear wheel arches, sport exhaust system, fog lights, and lowered sport suspension.
The BRABUS Xclusive adds a level of luxury, with BRABUS front spoiler and side skirts, tinted clear glass headlights, heated leather seats, three-spoke leather sport steering wheel, velour floor mats, and standard head/thorax side airbags that are optional on other models. It is available exclusively in silver or black.
Smart also announced “edition limited one”, in the tradition of Smart’s introduction in 1998 when customers had an opportunity to buy one of 7,500 “limited/1” special models. For the new model’s market launch in April 2007, 1,500 “edition limited one” cars will be available, in coupe body only. The package includes silver tridion safety cell, exclusive pyrite grey metallic body panels, spoke alloy wheels with wide tires and panoramic roof.
