Saturn to help build another playground in Etobicoke
Toronto, Ontario – Alexander Park Rejuvenation Project, Home Depot Canada, KaBOOM! and Saturn Canada will build a playground this Friday for children and youth in the Etobicoke area. More than 120 Home Depot associates, community volunteers and others will participate in this building event.
Formed in March 2002, Alexander Park Rejuvenation Project, a group comprised of concerned community members, has lead the planning, development and re-building of a safe playground for children in Etobicoke. The playground will include a naturalized garden.
For the past six years, through its national Saturn Playgrounds program, Saturn Canada and Saturn retailers have built and refurbished 185 playgrounds across Canada. In 2002, the nationwide program will see Saturn Retailers building 37 new playgrounds – seven in Western Canada, 20 in Ontario, six in Quebec and four in Atlantic Canada.
The official board cutting ceremony in Etobicoke will take place Friday, September 13, from 3:30-4:00 p.m. The build continues throughout the day – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The location is Alexander Park, 31 Alexander Street (corner of Alexander St. and Victoria St. across from David Hornell Jr. School. From Downtown: Gardiner Expressway West; Exit Lakeshore Blvd. West; West along Lakeshore Blvd., continue four blocks past Park Lawn Rd.; Turn right on Alexander St.
