Toronto, Ontario – In an effort to help students learn the importance of road safety, Safety Scholars Canada is inviting students to submit road safety videos for a chance to win one of three $5,000 scholarships. The contest, supported by Bridgestone Firestone Canada (BFCA), is designed to get students to explore all aspects of road safety, from the hazards of speeding to the risks of talking on a cell phone while driving, to produce a 25-second video.
Car crashes claim more lives of 16- to 21-year-olds in North America than any other cause.
Participants in the contest must be legal residents of Canada and be 16 to 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license and be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited secondary, college level or trade school. Official rules and entry forms can be found at www.safetyscholars.ca. Videos must be received by September 1, 2008.
