Rolls-Royce extended-wheelbase Phantom available in Europe
Goodwood, England – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced that its new extended-wheelbase Phantom will be launched in Europe; the car was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005 and was initially available for the Middle and Far Eastern markets.
The model adds 250 mm to the standard Phantom, behind the B-pillar, for an even more generously proportioned rear passenger compartment. The modification had been planned in the Phantom’s early stages, and an aluminum space frame chassis was used precisely because it could be easily adapted. The extra length is achieved by using longer extrusions in the body construction, without any loss in torsional rigidity; new aluminum roof and rear door panels are the only new major exterior parts required. The extended-wheelbase model is priced at 254,000 pounds, or 379,000 Euros.
