Auburn, Indiana – Ontario-based RM Auctions has purchased a 235-acre auction park in Auburn, Indiana from long-time auto auctioneer Dean Kruse.

As part of the company’s overall expansion plans, RM chairman Rob Myers also announced the formation of Auctions America by RM, a new subsidiary created to operate the facility. The subsidiary will specialize in 1950s and 1960s classics, customs and muscle cars.

RM Auctions will continue its annual calendar of events, and the two separate RM entities, each with its own focused brand identity, will seamlessly serve the entire spectrum of the collector car market.

An auction held in conjunction with the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Festival in Auburn, Indiana, once the world’s largest automobile auction, will continue under the Auctions America by RM banner on September 2 to 6, 2010.
