Toronto, Ontario – Financing company Newstart Canada has announced its new pilot program for rent-to-own cars, similar to consumer financing programs for furniture or electronics.

The program is new to the car industry; the company said that Walmart has a similar pilot program underway in Arizona.

Customers can lease and return a car after a six-month period when it is no longer needed. The company said that modest cars require no money down and no minimum credit rating, and each vehicle comes with a one-year CAA membership, extensive powertrain warranty and free oil changes.
