Montgomery, Alabama – Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) produced its first 2007 Santa Fe sport utility vehicle on Tuesday. The Santa Fe is the second vehicle to be produced at Hyundai’s state-of-the-art Montgomery, Alabama production facility. The first was the 2006 Sonata last May. At full capacity, HMMA will produce 300,000 vehicles annually.
The larger, 7-passenger 2007 Santa Fe is the first production vehicle designed at Hyundai’s design centre in Irvine, California.
“The all-new, 2007 Santa Fe is a very important vehicle for Hyundai in Canada,” stated Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, “and we are proud that this next generation Santa Fe will be produced in Hyundai’s ultra-modern North America manufacturing facility.”
