Hamilton, Ontario – More than 140 CARSTAR Collision Centres in Canada and the U.S. set a Guinness World Record title last Saturday by washing over 6,000 cars, while the 80 Canadian locations raised more than $100,000 for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and other local charities.

The Soaps It Up National Car Wash day set the Guinness record for the largest car wash, surpassing the goal of 4,000 cars required by Guinness for the record.

This year marked the sixth anniversary for the CARSTAR Soaps It Up fundraising events in Canada, and was the first year that the U.S. locations participated in the event. In the last 9 years, more than $1.6 million has been raised by CARSTAR Automotive Canada for cystic fibrosis research.
