RBC announces environmental donations for hybrid vehicle purchases

Toronto, Ontario – RBC Royal Bank has announced a number of donations it will make on behalf of customers who purchase financial products for environmentally-friendly items. Among them is a $50 donation to the Nature Conservancy of Canada for every hybrid vehicle financed through RBC Royal Bank.

“RBC is committed to making positive changes to protect the environment,” says Dave McKay, executive vice-president, Personal Financial Services. “We believe the majority of Canadians are also committed to making a difference and we want to give them greater opportunity to do their part. That is why we are constantly seeking ways to apply environmental principles to our products and services and we expect to expand on these offerings.”

Along with the hybrid vehicle donation, RBC’s incentives include a $5 donation for each time an account holder switches to paperless online statements; rebates of $300 towards a home energy audit, and a chance to win $25,000 for environmentally-sound home renovations; and a discount of $25 for Ontario and Alberta residents who wish to purchase clean, renewable power through Bullfrog Power.
