Indianapolis, Indiana – Ram has introduced its new 2012 Cargo Van (C/V), based on the Dodge Grand Caravan and with Chrysler’s new Pentastar V6 engine.

The Ram C/V features solid rear quarter windows, backlight privacy panels and a solid sliding door in place of clear glass windows, with optional combinations of solid and glass panels, along with a structural aluminum rear load floor.

“We see growth in the Class 1 light commercial vehicle market,” said Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand. “With its class-leading capability and a lower total cost of ownership, the highly versatile Ram Cargo Van is a great vehicle choice for small businesses and commercial fleets.”

Two flooring options will be available, either a flat uninterrupted floor or optional access to three storage bins and load floor tie-downs.

The Ram C/V uses a 3.6-litre V6 engine and will offer a payload of 816 kg (1,800 lbs) and towing capacity of up to 1,632 kg (3,600 lbs). It also features a commercial-tuned ride, heavy-duty load-leveling suspension, and heavy-duty radiator and transmission oil cooler.
