Quebec technician wins Subaru competition

Mississauga, Ontario – Norio Osakabe, president, chairman and CEO of Subaru Canada announced that Samuel Lecomte of Option Subaru in Québec City has won the 2004 Subaru Master Technician competition. Lecomte competed against 12 other top technicians from Subaru dealerships across Canada to claim the title of “Technician of the Year” in the trouble-shooting competition held at SCI headquarters in Mississauga.

Lecomte was the most successful in finding and repairing a number of pre-set malfunctions on a 2004 Impreza Outback Sport within the allotted time. In addition, judges award points based on workmanship, speed, accuracy, neatness, and safety practices. After the competition, Lecomte was honoured by Subaru executives and his fellow competitors at an awards banquet on Saturday evening.

“On behalf of everyone at Subaru, I would like to congratulate Samuel, and all the contestants who have worked so hard to prove themselves the best in Canada,” said Norio Osakabe, president, chairman and CEO of Subaru Canada. “The speed, accuracy and skill with which our technicians provide service to customers are crucial to Subaru’s reputation as a manufacturer. No one works harder than our outstanding technicians to achieve the highest standards of excellence.”
