Pricing for 2003 Honda Accord sedan announced

Toronto, Ontario – The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the new 2003 Honda Accord Sedan were announced today by Honda Canada Inc.

The 2003 Accord Sedan is available in DX, LX-G, EX-L and LX V6, EX V6 trim levels, and will go on sale nation-wide on September 30th.

2003 Accord sedan prices are as follows:

2003 Honda Accord

  5MT 5AT
DX $23,800 $24,800
LX-G $25,000 $26,000
EX-L $28,500 $29,500
LX V6 NA $29,000
EX V6 NA $32,500

For 2003, all models are upgraded with a list of standard features, including ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, LED dashboard illumination and a multi-functional ‘Wave’ style key which eliminates the need for a remote key fob.

Output of the new 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine is increased from 150 to 160 horsepower. The optional V6 engine delivers 20 percent more power, from 200 to 240 horsepower, yet displacement remains at 3.0-litres. A new 5-speed automatic transmission is optional.

The Accord Sedan DX, LX-G and EX-L trims come standard with the 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine coupled with a new 5-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic transmission. The Sedan LX V6 and EX V6 trims come standard with a 5-speed automatic transmission and are also equipped with a second generation Traction Control System (TCS) integrated into a new Electric Throttle Control (ETC) system.

A new seat design provides more comfortable support while the tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel helps the driver achieve their best driving position. Additionally, the redesigned four-wheel double-wishbone suspension contributes to more precise handling and reduced noise, vibration and harshness.

The popular LX-G trim will start at $25,000 and comes with numerous additional features, including standard rear disc brakes, a security system, driver and front passenger side SRS, heated body-coloured power door mirrors and a manual seat height adjustment for the driver’s seat.
The LX V6 adds a 6-disc CD player with steering wheel-mounted audio controls and 8-way power driver’s seat adjustment. The top-of-the line EX-L and EX V6 trims add a long list of luxury items such as dual-zone automatic climate control, leather-trimmed interior with heated front seats, power moonroof, and aluminum- or wood-style console (subject to interior colour). The EX V6 further adds 4-way power passenger seat adjustment and HomeLink remote garage door opener.

A new selection of dealer-installed accessories are also available with Accord Sedan, items such as an in-dash MP3 player, DVD-based rear entertainment system, a hands-free adapter for cellular phones, as well as a host of customizable parts to enhance both the interior and exterior.

The new Accord Coupe is scheduled to arrive at Honda dealerships in November and pricing will be announced at a later date. A special performance Coupe equipped with a V6 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission is set to arrive in early 2003.
