Oshawa, Ontario – GM Canada has announced that the all-new 2008 Cadillac CTS, arriving at dealers next month, will start at $38,900 with the standard 3.6-litre V6 engine, and $41,400 with the premium 3.6-litre V6 direct-injection engine.
“Cadillac takes its renaissance to the next level with the all-new 2008 CTS,” said Norm Sawula, Cadillac Marketing Manager. “The CTS uniquely combines dramatic styling, a hand-crafted interior, spirited performance and excellent ride and handling, to challenge the world’s best. With many new standard features and very competitive pricing, the 2008 CTS is even more desirable to luxury sport sedan buyers.”
The 3.6-litre direct-injection V6 VVT engine delivers 304 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque with regular gasoline; the company says the engine produces power similar to many V8s, but with significantly less fuel consumption. The direct-injection technology contributes to a 15 per cent increase in horsepower, an eight per cent increase in torque, and a three per cent improve in brake-specific fuel consumption.
For the first time, the CTS is available in rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, and both manual and automatic transmissions are six-speed. The CTS features all-new braking and steering systems, wider rear track, StabiliTrak electronic chassis control system, all-new cabin, dual-depth front passenger air bag, and seat and curtain airbags.
