Stuttgart, Germany – Porsche has presented the world premiere of the new Panamera at the Auto Shanghai show. The new four-door Gran Turismo is Porsche’s fourth model series, and will have three variants when it is launched to the public in September 2009.
The Panamera is making is debut as an eight-cylinder in two variants, delivering 400 and 500 horsepower, and with both rear- and all-wheel drive. A six-cylinder gasoline model and a hybrid version will follow later.
The Panamera will introduce new technological innovations for the first time in the luxury performance class, including the first start-stop system in conjunction with an automatic transmission, air suspension with additional air volume available on demand in each spring, and active aerodynamics with an adjustable, multi-dimensional, extendable rear spoiler on the Panamera Turbo. All models come with direct fuel injection, low-friction drive systems, and weight-optimized lightweight bodies.
