Tustin, California – Porsche tops a list of brands owners would recommend to others, according to a new report by marketing research firm AutoPacific, while the Infiniti G37 tops the list of individual vehicles.

“Typically, car buyers are very pleased when they first drive their new car off the dealer lot,” said George Peterson, AutoPacific president. “But just as a vehicle’s worth depreciates over time, some car owners’ level of confidence depreciates. We have quantified their level of confidence to see which new car owners will recommend their model most and this is information which will help new-car shoppers make informed, confident buying decisions. While many owners can be happy with their new cars, it takes another level of confidence to recommend it.”

Porsche had the highest owner recommendation of 91 per cent as a brand, while the G37 was recommended by 95 per cent of new owners as the top vehicle, car or truck. The truck with the highest overall score was the Ford F-150, recommended by 89 per cent of owners, while the SUV score was tied at 93 per cent between the GMC Yukon XL and Honda CR-V.

At the manufacturer level, Toyota had eight top rankings (Toyota 6, Lexus 2), Ford had six (Ford 5, Lincoln 1), Honda had three, GM had two (Chevrolet 1, GMC 1) and Chrysler had two (Jeep 1, Dodge 1).
