Mississauga, Ontario – Porsche AG has produced the 250,000th Cayenne at its plant in Leipzig, Germany. The milestone vehicle is a diesel-powered, six-cylinder version that will be delivered to a customer in Austria.

The Cayenne has been produced in Leipzig since 2002. The first-generation Cayenne sold 150,000 units worldwide, and sales have increased since the launch of the second generation in February 2007.

“The introduction of the Cayenne was an important strategic step for Porsche,” said chairman Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking. “The five-seater is not only a great addition to the range for our many long-term Porsche customers, but it also opens up to us an entirely new customer segment in international markets.”
