Porsche announces new entry-level Cayman

Atlanta, Georgia – Following the launch of the new Cayman S, Porsche has announced that it will offer an entry-level Cayman, based on the Boxster, with a starting price in Canada of $69,600.

The new Cayman uses a 2.7-litre six-cylinder Boxer engine, producing 245 horsepower. With a manual transmission, the vehicle will reach zero to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, with a top test-track speed of 258 km/h. A Tiptronic five-speed automatic and a six-speed manual transmission, available in conjunction with the Porsche Active Suspension Management system, will be offered.

Standard features will include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, CD player, Alcantara leather interior, chest and head airbags, and two trunks with a combined volume of 410 litres (14.5 cu. ft.). The new model is expected to go on sale this Summer.
