2008 Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder
Atlanta, Georgia – Porsche has announced a new limited-edition Boxster RS 60 Spyder, inspired by the silver Type 718 RS 60 Spyder that scored its first overall victory in the 1960 12 Hours of Sebring race. The new model will go on sale in Canada in the early spring of 2008.
The new edition uses a front-end design taken from Porsche’s SportDesign Package, further distinguishing it from the current Boxster S, along with spacer plates that move its 19-inch SportDesign wheels to a more prominent place in the wheel arches. Active Suspension Management is standard, while modifications to the exhaust flow and a dual-tailpipe sport exhaust system increase engine output to 303 hp.
Other features include exclusive GT silver metallic paintwork, Natural Leather and Carrera Red interior with matching red convertible top or optional Dark Grey Natural Leather with black roof, unique sill plates, race-inspired gearshift lever, and GT Silver Metallic instrument cluster.
The 2008 Boxster RS 60 Spyder will have a Canadian MSRP of $81,900. Of the 1,960 units produced, fewer than 800 will be exported to North America. The model will have its North American debut at the New York Auto Show in March, 2008.
