Pontiac Solstice GXP to compete in drifting

Long Beach, California – Pontiac has unveiled its next-generation drift vehicle, based on the upcoming turbocharged Solstice GXP. It follows on the success of its GTO, a model not sold in Canada.

The new Red Bull Solstice GXP Drift will be piloted by 2005 Formula Drift champion Rhys Millen and will make its official Formula D debut on June 10 in Chicago. It uses a race-modified 2.0-litre Ecotec turbocharged engine producing over 500 hp, roughly double the horsepower of the street version, and will run on E85 ethanol-based fuel.
