Oakville, Ontario – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada is reminding Canadians to spend a few minutes planning on getting home safely from St. Patrick’s Day activities.
The organization suggests that before starting in on green beer, appoint a designated driver, or leave the car at home and call #TAXI to arrange a safe ride home.
“On average, four people are killed and 207 people are injured in impaired driving crashes every day in this country,” said president Margaret Miller. “So whether you’re attending a house party or visiting your favourite pub, plan ahead. Let’s make this St. Patrick’s Day a safe one.”
Calling #TAXI (#8-2-9-4) from any cell phone will automatically connect to the first available taxi company, or the cab of your preference, for the same price or less than calling 411. Until March 31, anyone visiting PoundTaxi can win $520 in free cab rides.
MADD suggests that revellers plan ahead by programming #TAXI into their cell phones.
