Rome, Georgia – Pirelli has debuted its new Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico, a “SuperSingle” tire for light trucks, which it showed at the Specialty Market Equipment Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas last week. The company also unveiled a 32-inch Scorpion Zero.
The 405/25R24 Asimmetrico, meant for light trucks, replaces a set of dual wheels with a single, wider tire. The company says that if market reaction is as strong as expected, the tire will go into production at its factory in Rome, Georgia in early 2007; it is the widest tire that can be made on the production system. The tires can be mounted on 14.5- or 15-inch-wide rims and are intended for all kinds of customized light trucks, particularly small and mid-sized.
