Pennzoil-Quaker State announces 8th annual Care Care Month
Burlington, Ontario – Pennzoil-Quaker State and Car Care Canada have announced that May is National Car Care Month; the two companies will be teaming up to educate Canadian drivers about the importance of proper vehicle maintenance.
National car check events conducted by CarCareCanada.ca in May 2006 revealed that 78 per cent of vehicles on the road require some kind of basic maintenance, with problems including low, overfilled or dirty engine oil, dirty air filters and improperly inflated tires. These three common maintenance mistakes increase fuel consumption and pollution, and erode the car’s life expectancy.
Other important factors include driving at 90 km/h instead of 110 km/h, which can cut fuel use by up to 20 per cent; removing unnecessary weight, such as items in the trunk; and changing wiper blades at least once a year, if not more often.
