Pebble Beach, California – The 2009 Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance event will take place at the Carmel Mission in California on August 13, featuring a centennial celebration for Morgan motor cars.

Charles Morgan, current managing director of the company and grandson of the marque’s founder, will head the parade of Morgans participating in the tours. The cars will then compete for Class and Special Awards in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, August 16, where Morgan will be a featured marque.

Other Morgan owners are invited to bring their cars to the Mission; the public is also invited. The tour departs from the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center at 8:30 a.m., while the Morgans will depart at 9:30 a.m., following a special route. The Morgans are expected to be at the Mission from about 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., before joining the rest of the tour in downtown Carmel.

The show will also mark the introduction of the new Morgan Aero SuperSports to the North American market. The company produced about 700 of the vehicles for sale in Europe in 2008, and is now considering the U.S. market.
