Ottawa, Ontario – Atwill Service Centre in Ottawa, Ontario will celebrate 40 years in the automotive business with its Show and Shine 2009 car show on Saturday, June 13. The show will be held at Atwill Service Centre at 1167 Rainbow Street in Ottawa.

Proceeds from the show will go to Rogers House at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa Senators Foundation for Greater Goals and the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Founder Rick Atwill began his automotive repair business in Ottawa in 1969. The family-owned-and-operated business has since grown into one of the largest independent service centres in the region. Autos’s Jim Kerr toured the facility last year and had this report on “an excellent repair shop.” Atwill Service Centre was the base camp for Autos’s 2008 50-litre Challenge.

Show and Shine 2009 is more than just a car show. Although cars of all ages will be the stars, the show will also have something for the whole family. The KidZone includes a petting zoo, dunk tank, cotton candy, crafts, BBQ lunch, hockey shootout, soccer shootout, face painting and clowns. For the adults there are the cars, BBQ and dance.

The car show runs runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 13, rain or shine. The BBQ and dance, featuring a live band runs until 11:00 p.m.
