Opel/Vauxhall will go retro with new Monza concept at Frankfurt. And, if the rumour mill is correct, we will get it North America as the next Buick Grand National.

Opel today confirmed they will show a new sport coupe in Frankfurt along with some great teaser photos of the European-designed car. Monza, the name of a cult classic, will be used for the new coupe and bring some much needed energy to Opel’s family-oriented lineup since the loss of the Opel GT (Saturn Sky), save the range of VXR models.

However, the new model may not be limited to sale on the old continent. With the model lineup synergies that exist between Opel and Buick, the new Monza could make it to our shores as the next Grand National, says AutoGuide.

Press days for the Frankfurt Motor Show start September 10th.
