Ontario Provincial Police ask public’s help in finding hit-and-run vehicle

Essex County, Ontario – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s help for information leading to a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash. On November 16, 2007, a three-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 3, east of County Road 34 in Tecumseh, claiming the life of one man and leaving his 18-year-old daughter in intensive care.

The OPP is searching for a white or cream-coloured 1996 to 2000 Dodge Caravan. The vehicle may exhibit damage, including a missing left front headlight and headlight assembly; damage to the left front corner, extending to the left front fender; minor damage to the driver’s side mirror; scuffing and significant abrasions to the left front tire, with damage to the rim; and blue paint transfer marks to the body and fender areas.

The OPP encourages citizens to look for the vehicle, and be suspicious of such things as coworkers failing to bring their usual vehicle to work, or a neighbour leaving a van in the garage all weekend. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-723-2491, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
