Markham, Ontario – Ontario-based parts manufacturing Magna Seating has formed a joint venture with Krishna Group to produce seating systems and mechanisms for auto companies in India.

The 50/50 joint venture, MSKH Seating Systems, will produce systems for automakers operating within the Pune region of India. The company aims to start production within the next 12 months.

“Aligning ourselves with the Krishna Group allows us to engage automakers in the Pune region of India with a capable and competitive partner,” said Deepak Nagaraja, vice-president of Magna Seating’s Asia-Pacific operations. “They are a high-volume manufacturer of seating systems with a strong and established supply base. We look forward to many successes as we enter into this venture together.”

The joint venture marks Magna Seating’s initial entry into India. Its parent company also operates Magna Powertrain, Magna Mirrors, Magna Steyr, Magna Closures and Cosma International in the country.
