Toronto, Ontario – The Ontario government has announced that it will introduce a new visible accessible parking permit sticker for motorcycles, which will be placed directly on the license plate, as of May 26, 2008. The new sticker will complement the existing placard permit.

Instead of leaving the permit on the motorcycle, which presents a theft and privacy concern, motorcyclists will now be required to carry the permit with them, and may need to present it if asked by an enforcement officer.

More than 495,000 accessible parking permits have been issued in Ontario, with an estimated 100 used on motorcycles, for such medical conditions as lung and heart disease or arthritis.
