On-line petition calls for heritage designation of Langley Speedway

Langley, British Columbia – An on-line petition has been set up by the Langley Speedway Historical Society to support heritage designation of the former NASCAR-sanctioned track. The society is interested in restoring the site, much the same way as a heritage house or other site would be.

The society suggests uses for the restored track such as car shows, bicycle events, roller-blading and an annual Langley Speedway Reunion to bring together families and friends who used to race at the track. Replacements of buildings that stood above the grandstands would house artifacts, documents and photographs.
