Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian truck drivers who have performed heroic acts on the highway can be nominated for the Bridgestone Canadian Truck Hero Award before the deadline of September 30, 2009.
The award program looks for trucking professionals who have gone beyond the call of duty to lend a helping hand to someone in need while on the road. All acts are significant, no matter how big or small. Nominations can come from anywhere in Canada.
The winner will receive a cheque for $3,000, a trophy, and a two-day, expense-paid trip for two to the ceremony in November, which is held in Toronto in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Ontario Trucking Association. Bridgestone will also make a $3,000 donation to the recipient’s charity of choice, and the truck driver’s employer will also receive a trip to attend the ceremony.
To be nominated, drivers must operate a truck with 14 wheels or more, and have demonstrated courage, quick thinking, and integrity in the face of an emergency. To nominate, visit Truck Hero.
