Mississauga, Ontario – The deadline is fast approaching for the public to submit nominations for the Bridgestone Mark Messier Youth Leadership Award. The award recognizes youth hockey players, and mentors or coaches for their contributions to youth sports or education.
Created by Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations and Bridgestone Canada Inc. to encourage leadership and community spirit, the award will go to Canadian or U.S. residents involved in amateur hockey who are judged to have overcome adversity in achieving his or her goal or dream; promoted community service by promoting youth sports or excellence in academics for athletes; or have enabled underprivileged youth to partake in hockey.
The award is also open to individuals who have served as mentors or coaches to amateur hockey, and who have made significant differences in the lives of youth in one or several roles, including coach, league administrator, sponsor, or game officiating, timing and scoring, or other roles.
