Nissan opens new design studio in Taiwan

San-Yi, Taiwan – Nissan has opened its new Yulon Nissan Design Centre (YNDC) in San-Yi, Taiwan, joining a global stable of Nissan studios responsible for the company’s global products.

YNDC is now affiliated with studios in Atsugi and Harajuku, Japan; San Diego, California and Detroit, Michigan in the U.S.; and London, England. The studios will work cooperatively and competitively to create next-generation and all-new vehicle designs.

Yulon Asia Design Center, the predecessor of YNDC, worked on the redesign of several Nissan products specifically for the Taiwan and China markets, including the X-Trail, Bluebird, Cefiro, Verita, March and Serena.

The new facility employs 40 designers from Taiwan and around the world; they will work in six groups, including exterior, interior and digital design, clay modelling, colour design, and design research and management.
