Mississauga, Ontario – Nissan has announced a new 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition, in honour of four decades of its iconic sports car. The company will have 80 of the limited-edition models available in Canada, starting in the spring of 2010.
The anniversary edition celebrates the Datsun 240Z, which arrived on North America on October 22, 1969, heralding a new era in sports car design.
“Throughout the history of the automobile, a rare handful of cars stand apart as vehicles that not only capture the imagination of the world but also embody the essence of the automaker’s brand, engineering and ideals,” said Jeff Parent, vice-president of sales and marketing for Nissan Canada. “The Z is just such a vehicle. Because the exterior design concept for the 370Z was developed by Canadian Randy Rodriguez, we expect the Anniversary Edition to become a collector’s item in Canada.”
The 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition starts out as a Coupe Touring model with manual transmission and Sport Package, and adds a premium “40th Quartz” exterior colour and red leather-appointed interior. Additional exclusive equipment includes a smoke wheel finish, red brake calipers, 40th Anniversary logos and embroidery, authenticity plaque, and satin car cover. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
