Mississauga, Ontario – The Infiniti G37 Art Car, created to commemorate Infiniti’s 20th anniversary, has brought $55,000 at a charity auction.

The car was purchased by an anonymous bidder at a private auction in Whistler, B.C. for ONE DROP, which supports clean water projects in developing countries. The charity is an initiative of Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil. The company performed a show at the auction to highlight the car, which was created in 2009 to commemorate both Infiniti’s 20th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of Cirque du Soleil.

Montreal artist Heidi Taillefer created the design and spent more than 300 hours hand-painting the vehicle’s exterior. The car toured with various Cirque du Soleil shows and auto events prior to the auction.
