Nissan and Mitsubishi expand OEM business in Japan

Tokyo, Japan – Nissan Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motors have announced they have agreed to expand their current business collaboration by enhancing the OEM (original equipment manufacturing) contract scope.

Under the expanded agreement, Mitsubishi will supply Nissan with 4,000 units per year of its Townbox minicar. Nissan will supply Mitsubishi with the AD and AD Expert light commercial vehicles, at a volume of 3,000 units per year.

Mitsubishi has supplied Nissan with the Clipper light commercial vehicle and the Otti minicar – sold by Mitsubishi under its Minicab and eK Wagon names, respectively – but this marks the first time Nissan will supply vehicles to Mitsubishi.
