Yokohama, Japan – Nissan and Mazda will expand the scope of their partnership overseas, with Mazda supplying its Premacy minivan, also known as the Mazda5, to Nissan beginning in May 2011.

Nissan’s OEM business involves a large number of automakers across the globe in relationships that benefit both suppliers and recipients. The expanded agreement will enrich Nissan’s minivan lineup in the Japanese market with the addition of a model based on Mazda’s global minivan.

Mazda markets the Premacy in approximately sixty countries and regions worldwide. Under the agreement, Mazda will supply a clearly differentiated version to Nissan for sale in Japan.

The two companies also collaborate under an existing agreement, under which Mazda provides its Bongo Van/Truck to Nissan, which sells it as the Nissan Vanette Van/Truck. Nissan supplies the AD/AD Expert to Mazda, which markets it as the Mazda Familia Van.
