Nissan and Habitat for Humanity form partnership

Nashville, Tennessee – Nissan North America Inc. and Habitat for Humanity have announced a one-year, US$1 million partnership that includes house sponsorships, support of current Habitat projects, and the donation of ten Nissan Titan trucks. Nissan will sponsor and build a total of ten houses with U.S. affiliates in Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas, and with international affiliates in Canada, Brazil and Mexico.

To kick off the partnership, Nissan employees and executives are currently helping to build a home in Nashville; they will work on a weekly basis to help complete the house for dedication ceremonies on June 29. Nissan moved its North American headquarters to Nashville eighteen months ago.

In addition to the announcement, Nissan is also a sponsor for the 24th annual Jimmy Carter Work Project in Los Angeles, a week-long “blitz-build” led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn to highlight the need for affordable housing worldwide.
