NHTSA investigates Durangos

Detroit, Michigan – The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into the safety of the suspension of the Dodge Durango after receiving reports of front suspension failures. The investigation covers 1998 through 2003 Durangos.

The NHTSA is also investigating automatic transmissions on 217,000 1999 Plymouth Breeze and Dodge Stratus cars and Chrysler Sebring convertibles after reports the gear lever could be moved out of park without the key in the ignition, leading to the car moving unexpectedly.
