Victoria, British Columbia – Three new highway Web cameras have been added to the DriveBC Web site, allowing drivers to see current road and weather conditions before travelling. The new cameras are on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Island) and on Vancouver Island.
“With these new webcams, motorists are better informed of weather and road conditions and are able to make safe travel plans,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond. “These additional webcams are part of the network of over 150 highway cameras now operational province-wide.”
The Haida Gwaii cameras are on Highway 16, near Masset and Skidegate, while the Vancouver Island is in the Roberts Lake area of Highway 19, about 30 km northeast of Campbell River.
