Mississauga, Ontario – The all-new 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback have been named “Top Safety Picks” by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

To qualify, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of “Good” in the Institute’s front, side and rear impact tests, and be equipped with electronic stability control. ESC is standard on the Legacy and Outback.

“Thanks to testing by groups like the IIHS, Subaru customers know they can depend on us for the highest levels of occupant protection,” said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. “The fact that 2010 Impreza, Forester and Tribeca have also achieved Top Safety Pick status is both a tribute to the people who design and engineer our vehicles, and a powerful signal to consumers that we’re committed to building vehicles that are safe and durable as well as fun to drive.”
