New Smart Fortwo fuel consumption and emissions lower than expected
Stuttgart, Germany – DaimlerChrysler has announced that its new Smart Fortwo is more environmentally-friendly than originally expected. Instead of the previously-announced 90 grams of carbon dioxide per km, the diesel-powered version has tested at 88 grams, while the previous 3.4 L/100 km has been adjusted to 3.3 L/100 km.
Gasoline versions of the Fortwo have tested at 4.7 and 4.9 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions at 112 and 116 grams per km.
