New recall affects Dodge Sprinter vehicles

Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has released its latest recall, which may affect some Dodge and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles.

2004-2006 Dodge Sprinter
Vehicles affected: 190

On certain Sprinter 2500 vehicles equipped with a rear air conditioning system, the rear interior lights mounted in the ductwork may overheat. In certain conditions, bulb heat can cause the lens to distort over long-term operation. As a result, the electrical contacts could cause a short circuit, which may lead to a vehicle fire. Dealers will replace the lamps with a modified version containing lower-wattage bulbs.
